About Police
The Puntland State Police (PSP) was founded on February 22nd, 1999, in accordance with Article 13, paragraph two of the Puntland State National Convention.
The initial force comprised 100 members from the Somali Government Police, 50 members from the Somali Armed Forces, and 50 members who were activists from the Puntland State SSDF.
